Welcome to the PAFN Family!

Congratulations!
We would like to congratulate all the new advisors for the 2013-2014 school year! Strong advisors are the backbone of PAFN and based on what we have been able to learn about you all through the interview process, we are confident that PAFN will be a much stronger organization this coming year.

What's Next?
If you haven't already, please join our 2013-2014 facebook group here. PAFN Exec Board will be holding an ice cream social on Thursday, March 21st from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Ern Commons where you’ll be able to meet other PAFN advisors and learn about what’s new with PAFN for next year! Feel free to stop by anytime!

There will be two training sessions this year:

Advisor Training, Part I: Saturday, March 23rd from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Newcomb Ballroom (Business Casual, Lunch will be provided)
Advisor Training, Part II: Sunday, April 7th from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomb Ballroom (No Dress Code)

Part I will be a joint peer mentoring training session with the other peer advising organizations under the Dean of Students' Office. The session will consist of guest speakers and a resource workshop. Part II will be for PAFN only and will mainly focus on advisor bonding.

Between the 1st and 2nd training sessions, you will be provided a list consisting of 3-4 other advisors that you are encouraged to meet with. While not mandatory, it is in your best interest to get to know as many of your fellow advisors as possible because this year you will be able to influence who your co-advisor will be. Exec board will be sending out a co-advisor preference form after the 1st training session which we will use to help select the pairs.

If you have a time conflict with the training sessions, please let us know as soon as possible if you haven't already via uvapafn@gmail.com. Any questions, suggestions, or concerns should either be sent to uvapafn@gmail.com or through the feedback page on this blog.

Looking forward to working with you all. Have a great spring break!
